Rekluse e-Axle
Rekluse Motor Sports, a leader in providing innovative products to the motor sports industry, announced the release of the Rekluse e-Axle for KTMs. The Rekluse e-Axle is a unique product that allows the rider to tune the steering characteristics of their motorcycle quickly and easily.
The Rekluse e-Axle is an eccentric axle assembly that replaces the stock KTM front wheel axle. With the Rekluse e-Axle installed, the rider can adjust the front wheel offset (or front wheel trail) anywhere between 2 millimeters forward and 3 millimeters back from the stock position. To adjust the front wheel offset, the rider simply loosens the four pinch bolts holding the front axle, rotates the e-Axle to the desired offset and re-tightens the pinch bolts.
"We are always looking for products which give the rider significant benefits for off-road or motocross riding," said Al Youngwerth, President of Rekluse Motor Sports. "The e-Axle is unique in its ability to allow the rider to make a wide range of adjustments to the front wheel offset, on the trail or at the track. The e-Axle gives the rider a competitive edge by matching front-wheel steering geometry to riding conditions."
Changing the front wheel offset has long been a popular method for tuning the steering characteristics of a motorcycle. Before the e-Axle, changing the front wheel offset required the purchase and installation of aftermarket offset triple clamps. Recognizing the value for an adjustable front wheel offset, KTM has now introduced a triple clamp on some new 2006 models that provides the rider the choice of two different offsets. However, changing front wheel offset with aftermarket offset triple clamps or KTMs adjustable triple clamps is a time consuming process that requires complete disassembly of the motorcycles front-end and very limited offset choices.
With the Rekluse e-Axle, a rider can quickly and easily test different front wheel offsets to find the optimal offset for track conditions and tire choice. No other method for adjusting front wheel offset is as quick or as easy, making the Rekluse e-Axle the best option for on-the-track tuning of front wheel offset.
The e-Axle is CNC machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum and 4140 alloy steel. Aluminum parts are hard anodized for increased wear resistance.
Rekluse partnered with the products original inventor, Alden Eaton, combining a unique idea with Rekluses focus on providing product innovation and exceptional product support to the motor sports industry.
The initial release of the e-Axle will support 2003 and newer KTM 2-stroke and 4-stroke models. The Rekluse e-Axle has a retail price of $189. |
