EnduroPilot wins its first National Enduro Championship!

The AMA FMF Racing National Enduro Series finished the season with round 9 in Delaware City, Delaware on October 30th 2005. The AMA awards banquet was held on Friday November 18th at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada . A wide variety of champions were honored during the awards cerimony including cross country, dirt track, drag racing, enduro, hare and hound, hare scrambles, hillclimb, ice racing, motocross, observed trials, road racing, speed trials, speedway, supermoto and endurocross. On the enduro side Mike Lafferty was crowned overall champion for the 7th time in his career. Cody Maston was crowned the Open A champion, his sister Amanda Maston was crowned Women's Champion. On the stage with them accepting his first National Championship for the 4-stroke A class after finishing 2nd place in the Open A class in 2003 and 2004 was EnduroPilot's own Tom Farris. During the season he had some help with his championship achievment from his Watchdog 2000 Enduro Computer and his Rekluse Z-Start automatic clutch. "It was a wonderful feeling to stand up on the stage with the other champions that had worked equally as hard to earn their spot as National Champions. How To Get a Good Hole shot with a Z-start clutch
It is amazing how your hole shots will improve with a Z-start clutch. I have found that on my 04 KTM 450 EXC the best way to get the whole shot is to:

I put the transmission into 2nd gear with my weight forward on the bike and have my thumb ready to press the electric start. When the gun fires I press the starter button and roll on the thottle. The engine fires and the clutch automaticaly engages smoothly with the front wheel on the ground with the feeling that I am being shot out of a sling shot. The Z-start puts all of your engines power to the ground for maximum traction!
